The Lab

Create a complete category with the help of AI.

The BerlinOne Lab builds a category with you, from the first idea to its events. You describe what you want; the AI proposes, you adjust, and nothing is created until you decide. Open it from the portal, with the BerlinOne Lab entry point.

What it costs

A category created with the Lab costs at most 20 AI credits, however many exchanges it takes.

If you give up along the way, the exchanges already made still count: one credit each, never more than 20.

A Lab category counts toward the number of categories your plan lets you create.

A session, step by step

The session moves through six steps. At each one, the AI makes a proposal: you accept it, or you write what needs to change.

  1. Intention: describe your idea — the subject, the angle, the period, what interests you in particular. The AI helps you sharpen it.
  2. Framing: the AI proposes themes and a style. Ask for some to be added or removed.
  3. Quantity: the AI suggests a number of events. Accept it, or give your own.
  4. Identity: pick a title from three proposals, adjust the description, then paste an emoji for the icon.
  5. Prototype: the AI writes a first event, which serves as the model for all the others. Ask for more or less detail, a more factual or more narrative tone.
  6. Generation: the AI writes the events in batches of 5. Accept each batch, ask for adjustments, or add more.

When you are happy, click Create category with … events, at the bottom of the screen, next to Generate 5 more events. You can do so before reaching the initial target, and add more events later from the Studio.

Each step allows a limited number of exchanges, shown on screen. Once the limit is reached, accept to move on, or start over.

At creation

Before creating the category, BerlinOne reviews the events:

  • it flags those that look alike, without removing anything;
  • it corrects what it can, and tells you so;
  • it removes those it cannot save, most often because their date is incomplete or impossible.

The category is created private, and you already follow it. It appears under My categories, ready to be shown on your timeline.

Leaving or starting over

Don't leave the page during a session. It is not saved: reloading or closing the page loses it, and the credits already taken stay spent.

To start from scratch, click Reset at the top right. You can also go back a step with ← Previous phase.

What BerlinOne keeps of your sessions

Your exchanges with the AI are kept with the category they produced. A session that led to no category is erased after 30 days.

You will find a copy in your downloaded data: see Account and privacy.

If something goes wrong

The Lab entry point is grayed out on the portal — hover over it to see why:

  • you have reached your plan's number of categories: delete one, or move to a higher plan;
  • you don't have enough credits left for a category. On the Free plan, trial credits are not renewed.

"Exchange limit reached for this phase" — accept what is proposed, or start the step over.

"No event could be kept" — all the events were set aside during the review, often because of their dates. The category was not created: rephrase your request, or adjust the period.

The AI doesn't respond — it stops without a proposal or a question: write "continue". It picks up where it left off.

"Your session has expired" — reload the page to sign in again. The current session is lost.
