Account and privacy

Your profile, your languages, the emails you receive, your data, and deleting your account.

Almost everything is handled from your profile menu at the top right: Profile and Preferences.

Your profile

Open Profile to change your pseudonym, your year of birth and your bio.

  • Your pseudonym is the name other people see in BerlinOne. It is unique and at least 3 characters long. Your real name is never shown.
  • Your year of birth is optional.
  • Your bio is optional, up to 500 characters.

Your email address is the one you sign in with — Google, Microsoft, or the link sent to your inbox. Your profile menu shows which method you are signed in with. To change your address, write to us.

Languages

BerlinOne speaks French, English and Spanish. Two separate settings, in Preferences:

  • Display Language: the language of menus, buttons and messages. You can also switch it in one click from your profile menu.
  • Translation Languages: the languages the event form offers you when you write or correct a translation. Your display language is always one of them.

The emails you receive

BerlinOne never sends you advertising. You only receive:

  • the sign-in link, when you ask for it;
  • invitations and recommendations someone sends you for a category;
  • anniversary notifications, if you turn them on;
  • a notice before renewal, if you have an annual subscription: about 30 days before, then 3 days before, with the expected amount.

Anniversary notifications

They remind you by email of the anniversaries of events in the categories you follow — an event's 10th, 25th or 100th anniversary, for example. They are off to begin with.

  1. Open Preferences, Notifications section.
  2. Check Enable anniversary notifications.
  3. Choose when to get the reminder: the same day, a few days before, on Mondays, or on the first of the month.

For now, the anniversaries retained are multiples of 5 years. The same section shows your upcoming anniversaries, as they will appear in your emails.

You still need to choose the events, category by category — without that choice, no anniversary is sent. In Studio → My follows, open the ⋮ menu on the right of a category's card, choose Anniversary notifications and check the kinds of events you are interested in.

Your data

BerlinOne does not analyze how you use it, and never uses it for advertising. We keep what is needed to run your account: your sign-in session, your preferences, and the content you create.

The Privacy Policy details what is kept, for how long, and with which service providers. You can also reach it from Preferences, Legal Documents section.

Downloading your data

  1. Open Preferences, Delete Account section.
  2. Click Download my data.

You get a JSON file with your profile, your categories and events, what you follow and share, your preferences, your Lab conversations, your subscription history, and the emails we have sent you.

Assistants connected to your account

If you have allowed Claude or another assistant to read your categories, Preferences → Connected applications lists them and lets you remove access. It is all explained in Connect your assistant.

Deleting your account

A running Premium or Premium+ subscription must be stopped first: on My Subscription, click Cancel renewal. You can then delete your account right away, but the rest of the period already paid is lost, with no refund.

  1. Open Preferences, Delete Account section.
  2. If you want to keep a copy, click Download my data first.
  3. Click Delete my account.
  4. Type your email address to confirm, then click Delete forever.

What is deleted: your profile, your preferences, what you follow, your credits, your Lab conversations, and your private categories with all their content — including those you shared with other people.

What is kept: your public categories, and the events you added to other people's categories. They stay in BerlinOne, with no link to you: their author becomes "Unknown".

Backup copies containing your information are erased no later than 30 days after deletion.
