Sharing and proposing
Invite someone, accept an invitation, approve a proposal.
There are two ways to work together in BerlinOne:
- share one of your private categories with people you choose: they can read it;
- propose an event, or a correction, in someone else's category: its owner accepts or declines it.
Sharing a private category
- In the Studio's My categories tab, click the two-person icon on the right of the category's card (Share to friend).
- Enter the person's email address, then click Invite.
- They receive an email with a link. Until they accept, their invitation is Pending; then Accepted.
Only the owner can invite someone to see a private category. The category stays private: only the people invited can see it.
The number of invitations per category depends on your plan: 3 on Free, 15 on Premium, 50 on Premium+. Removing an invitation frees its place.
Recommending a public category
On a public category, Share to friend sends a simple recommendation by email. Anyone can recommend a public category, their own or someone else's, to a person who already has a BerlinOne account.
Accepting an invitation
- Open the invitation email and click the link.
- Sign in with the address that received the invitation.
- BerlinOne confirms: "Invitation accepted!"
The category joins your follows, under Studio → My follows. It stays private: it does not appear in the catalog.
Removing access
Two places lead to the same result:
- the two-person icon on the right of the card (Share to friend): the window lists the People with access, with a Revoke access button;
- in the Studio's My categories tab, the My Shares button at the top right: all your shared categories, with a Revoke button for each person.
Removal is immediate: the person no longer sees the category, which disappears from their follows. If they had not accepted yet, their link no longer works.
Proposing an event or a correction
You can propose in any category you can read: a public category, or a category shared with you.
- A new event: in the Studio, Public catalog or My follows tab, open the ⋮ menu on the right of the category's card, then Propose an event.
- A correction: on the timeline, select the event, then open its ⋮ menu at the bottom of its card: Propose a change. Or, in the Studio, on the Events page, click the pencil on the right of the event.
Fill in the form as for your own events, then write a Message to category owner: why you are proposing this. It is required, and only the owner reads it.
Your proposals, pending or rejected, are on the Studio's Events page, Pending tab, at the top next to the Events tab. While a proposal is waiting, you can change it: Edit my proposal.
You cannot propose anything on an alias: propose the correction on the source event, in its own category. And a locked category accepts no proposals.
Approving or rejecting a proposal
When someone proposes in your category, the proposal appears on the portal, at the very bottom below the four entry points, in Events pending approval, with three buttons:
- Approve: the proposal replaces the event, or is added to the category;
- Reject: it is set aside, and its author sees it as rejected;
- Edit: you adjust it before deciding.
Its author's message comes with it. If it is written in another language, the Translate button translates it, free of charge.
If something goes wrong
The invitation is refused: maximum reached — remove an existing invitation, or move to a higher plan.
"This invitation was sent to a different email address" — sign in with the address that received the email.
"This invitation has expired" — it is more than 7 days old. Ask for a new one.
"Invitation already sent" — a still-valid invitation is already waiting for this address. Once it expires, after 7 days, you can invite again.
"This email address does not match any BerlinOne account" — the person is not on BerlinOne yet, or signs in with another address. To get them an invitation to BerlinOne, write to us at info@berlinone.ca.
Propose a change is grayed out — a proposal is already waiting on this event.
"Event limit reached" when approving — your category has reached your plan's number of events. Remove one, or move to a higher plan.
